procrastinator's guide to getting stuff done

Hi guys, this post about last-minute Christmas presents was supposed to go up a week ago, but I procrastinated, and now it's too late. (So I can't really blame anyone for "last minute" gifts since I'm doing this at literally the last minute.) But I guess this guide is still pretty helpful if you plan on giving a late gift or just indulging yourself in rad gifts under $20 from the comfort and love of your computer.
-
So, I thought I should make a little holiday gift guide if you've got anyone who (like me) is 12 years old or (like me) wants gifts or (like me) is a female adolescent (like me.) *hint hint* Because you know, to give is better than to receive (but I am of course open to receiving any of these lovely presents as a surprise.)

cool things 1

(left to right)
1. Really Positive Energy Breath Spray, $6.29
Heightens your inner magnetism with "real unicorn juice".
2. Pop Heart Purrfect Lip Balm, $5.44
Kitschy heart shaped tin.
3. Shark! Heat Sensitive Mug, $11.79
Pour your coffee in and watch the horrific beach scene play out. Sounds like a party to me!
4. Cat Eye Glasses, $8.49
Meowow! (See what I did there.)
5. All My Friends Are Dead, $10.49
This will make you laugh and cry at the same time, and that's my favorite.
6. Morrissey, $10.42
This charming man.
8. Kitty Wampus, $6.29
Hey it says ages 4+ you guys, that means me. I would actually probably just get this for the amazing design on the box but the game itself seems pretty fun.
9. Solar Powered Sushi Dancers, $13.79
Needs no explanation.
10. Vinnie's Tampon Case, $12.79
Wow this. "Remember your flow." It even comes with a handy period chart.
Most adorable thing ever. *buys*

cool things 2

(left to right)
2. Martie T-Bar Shoes, $20.00
I've been scouring stores for T-bar shoes like this for such a long time and I can imagine so many outfits that would be 200% better with these shoes.
3. Quartz Pendant Necklace, $20.00
Lovely and feminine.
4. Dr. Martens USB Boot, $20.00
I just really like this, okay!
5. Farts: A Spotter's Guide, $17.99
Only book that anyone will ever need ever.
6. Momiji Message Doll, $17.99
Incredibly cute doll that poops secret messages. Okay, do you really need any other reasons?
I've always wanted to do magic tricks even though I'm mostly sure I'm horrible at them, but your daughter/niece/sister/you might not be.

If this guide didn't help at all (sorry not sorry) and you still have no idea what to get, just give them the gift that keeps on giving: cold hard cash love.

What do you guys think, and what's on your wishlists?

Happy holidays!

Book me a ticket to Helsinki. First class.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I've been pretty busy since I've been going to 7th grade orientation since last week so I've been kind of overwhelmed by 4 hours less of sleep at night and the homework (and accompanying stress) from orientation. So, yeah. These are just some of the really cool outfits I've seen on one of my favorite street style blogs, Hel-Looks.

I love this one because of all of the different layers and concepts that were a part of it.
I <3 minimalism.
Her hair though.
She has a flower in her bag and she's wearing what looks like the softest sweater on Earth, need I say anything more?
I really like that her look is kind of androgynous but also her skirt is one of the prettiest things I've seen in a while.
Bikini Kill, the creepers, those sunglasses which I am now obsessing over, the net bag, and vests over sweaters which I think is cool because it used to be this huge trend but now it's not really, but she's still rocking the outfit.

I feel like I'm being so inaccurate  because I describe all of the outfits as the coolest thing ever but they are literally all the coolest things ever. I wish my vocabulary was advanced enough to describe my reactions to them better. But seriously ASDFGHJKL;'!@#$%^ HER RIPPED SWEATER QWERTYUIOP[&*){ VELVET SKIRT
*deep breath* I'm so jealous.

You know, my incoherent jumbles really do not do justice to these amazing outfits so I'll just let the pictures speak for the rest of them.

I think I like looking through street style blogs because I need confirmation that people with a unique sense of style actually exist in this world and walk the streets like the rest of us humans. Its weird because I live in Chicago and big cities are supposed to be this plethora of creative, rad people, but I never see any. Come on cool people, where are you hiding? Reveal your secret locations to me so that I may steal from your closets!

Well, that was odd. I'm afraid that's the kind of behavior that will get me shoved into a locker in middle school.
What do you guys think of these amazing outfits? Which ones are your favorites?

Excuse me while I go off to make voodoo dolls of these people so that I can steal their souls and eventually their clothes.

Feel my heart it's aching, wish I could stop breaking, spend all day just thinking for you

So I was browsing through tumblr today and I discovered some of the amazing kitschy kawaii artwork of Justin Wallis at MILKBBI and all I have to say is wow.

I was content with ogling at his amazing drawings on the internet but then I found out that he also sells clothing and accessories! That's right, you can wear his adorable illustrations on. your. body. And everyone will know how cool you are because of your impeccable taste.

I picked those song lyrics as my title because now I'm spending all day thinking about those lovely "Angel Eyes" tights (bottom left) and what I would wear them with if I had the money. I might just save up for them because they are just SO pretty.Sadly, I currently have no money for all of this.

Yes, I know this was a really short post but you will love me anyways, right? Right.
Peace out cub scouts,
Kanyinsola

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I was on Style.com today looking at the 2014 Resort Collections, when I saw House of Holland.
The first words that came into my mind were: 70s Glam Rock Sparkling Galactic Princess and then I fell in love.
The entire collection is so fabulous that I couldn't pick a favorite, so I'll just choose a few randomly and talk about why I am so enchanted with them.
This one, just for the bell bottoms. I've been looking for a good pair of bell bottoms for months now because they are effortlessly timeless. I especially love the ones from House of Holland because of the pattern on the waist and leg. But aside from that, I love how the shirt itself is kind of boxy but then the sleeves flower out.
Is it just me or are these two extremely wearable for your average human. These outfits both get extra style points from me because of the placement what looks like badges on their shoes and clothing. I don't know why, but adding those just makes it even more pleasing (aesthetically) for me.
I always scream a little inside when I see a dress or skirt with pockets because I am just obsessed with them. Not to mention geometric prints, which I basically just like because I'm a math nerd. I feel like I could easily wear this dress with black creepers and a  coat that's just a bit longer than the dress itself (the type that  goes all the way to your knees).
I get the feeling that if I wore this, I would feel like a really fashionable schoolteacher from the 1900s. This is one of the simpler looks from the collections, but I really like it cause... you know... minimalism? I don't know, I just think it's one of those things that I'm drawn to for no specific reason.
My first thought was that I would wear this look to a comic book convention because of the kapow! things from when the villain gets knocked into a building or something. The bag and dress just seem really fun and relaxed.

It just occurred to me that almost all of the shoes look like all or part of them were doused in Mod Podge Extreme Glitter (in a good way)!

Anywho, that's just my opinion, what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments section.

Till next time,
Kani
